National
Informatics Centres District Unit (District Informatics Centre or DIC) was established
in 1988. Initially no separate room (10'X10') was
provided at Collectorate rather
it was, earlier, established
in a room situated at the backside of Collectorate building in the Collectorate campus of
district Sidhi .
The building was referred as DRDA Building. Latter on 26th Feb 2001, it
was shifted to Room No. 62 (25' X 20') of Collectorate
Building as the district administration experienced real need of it in their day-to-day
official working. One
more room (Room No. 60 with dimentions 20'X 19')
were provided to establish Video Conferencing facilities in May
2004.
As of now, DIC-Sidhi is well equiped
with the latest machinery, like AMDProcessor 8 Core E6128 Win2K8,
Xeon Win2k3 server having Raid5 technology, DirecWay4020 VSAT
Equipment etc., and all 5 Blocks of Distt. Sidhi are connected
with dial-up connectivity to NICNET for getting the advantage
of Email accessing of their own provided at NIC Server. With the
establishment of Video Conferencing Studio, we are having 24X7
uninterrupted NICNET connectivity as the SCPC -Dama VSAT Equpment
acts as backup for the existing DW4020. Also, DIC-Sidhi extended
NICNET connectivity to all 6 tehsils of Sidhi district separately.
Each and every Govt. office at District Head Quarter is
taking advantage of NICNET facility for connecting to NIC Server
through RAS-Finder of DIC-Sidhi.
